The Integrity of the Word

- For 1000 years the Word of God was locked up in monasteries and in a language not of the people; then Reformation came; then the word was locked up in doctrines and creeds.
- We must put the Word of God first place in our lives.
A. It is God speaking to you
B. It is God-in-breathed
C. Hebrews 4:12
D. Psalm 119:89 (Forever settled in heaven) Ps 138:2 (magnified above Name)
E. We are to believe only what the Word says – not what we think it says – then walk in the light of what it says!
3. We must become Word-minded
A. Abide in the Word, know the truth, be set free (John 8:31, 32; 15:7)
B. Of His own will He brought us forth, by the Word of Truth (James 1:18)
C. Born again by incorruptible seed (I Peter 1:23)
D. Man shall not live by bread alone but by every Word of God (Matthew 4:4)
E. It is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17)
F. We are to seek only what is promised in the Word
G. The inward witness will grow to maturity only as we are mindful of God’s Word (Hebrews 5:13, 14 – train senses to discern the Word)
