Sermons

Welcome to our sermon archive.  The Word of God is so deep and rich that nobody can ever say "I know it all".  As modern day believers we often discover present day truths in the ancient scriptures.  This archive is a roadmap of what we have discovered so far, and is made available freely.

Each church service is recorded.  If a recording is available for a certain service, a "Play" link will be visible.  Click it to listen to the audio. Your browser might prompt you to install Microsoft's Silverlight plug-in.  Silverlight is a small download and installs within a few minutes.

What is desired in a man is kindness
Posted by Morne Fourie on 09 July 2010

By Apostle Aje Pelser

Here are some revelations about kindness that will reveal God’s love through our lives.

People Desire Kindness

“What is desired in a man is kindness”

22     What is desired in a man is 6kindness,

And a poor man is better than a liar.

Proverbs 19:22

I prayed about this and asked God to help me be kind even to people who constantly treat me disrespectfully.

Kindness is the next level of Love

I heard the Holy Spirit within:

“You have learnt patience, now you can learn kindness.”

This is perfectly true, because love is patient and love is kind…

The Holy Spirit brings things to our remembrance.

Jesus was Kind to Sinners

The Word admonishes us further:

35 But slove your enemies, tdo good, and ulend, 8hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and vyou will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.[1]

Luke 6:35

It’s About respect:

When people receive the desired kindness from you the level we all seek to attain to is that of respect from our fellow man.

But a meditation on that reveals:

“God’s grace over many years has helped us to gain the level of respect we now enjoy.”

Respect breeds respect, but add this: “over time!”

Virtuous Women are Kind

The World has taught women to be self assertive and harsh, in order to be competitive in the work place.

Men know that women are tough, they give birth to children, something a man will never do!

So ladies don’t actually have to prove their toughness and can operate in a higher law, a law of kindness.

Proverbs 31

She opens her mouth with wisdom,

And on her tongue is the law of kindness.

Love never fails, so kindness will win the day as well.

In the Church – if we compare the Church to a virtuous wife, after all the Church is the Bride of Christ- then we can learn more kindness. This is easier said than done especially when undergoing trials and persecution. But allow the Holy Spirit to develop His fruit of kindness in your life. There will be times when you consciously sow kindness, and then don’t expect it in return, be kind anyway.

If you want a harvest of fruit, seeds need to be sown:

Examples of seeds of kindness could include:

Reacting in the opposite spirit on the Road, at work, in your family!

In our speech: “A soft answer turns away wrath”. This is how we disarm principalities and powers, with the force of God’s love manifested in kindness.

When people treat you badly and you remain kind to them, they don’t know what to do. Sometimes people get angry and persecute you, but in time the power of the Holy Spirit will either convict them or repel them so strongly that they will never hurt you again.

God’s Kindness Appeared when Jesus Came

Titus 3:3

3 For cwe ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. 4 But when dthe kindness and the love of eGod our Savior toward man appeared, 5 fnot by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through gthe washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 hwhom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace iwe should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

8 jThis is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.

The Process through which kindness Appears:

Jesus Came - God’s Kindness Appeared in Christ

Not by works – Pharisees hated Jesus because he stimulated faith which made men righteous. Legalism is harsh, God’s spirit is kind.

According to His MERCY He saved us – mercy triumphs over judgement

James 2:13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Washing & regeneration of the Holy Spirit – Ephesians 5:25

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and lgave Himself for her, 26 that He might 7sanctify and cleanse her mwith the washing of water nby the word, 27 othat He might present her to Himself a glorious church, pnot having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish[3]

Holy spirit poured out by Jesus in our lives –

Romans speaks about the Love of God being poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit

5 iNow hope does not disappoint, jbecause the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Justified by His grace

We are heirs according to the hope of eternal life

The reason we preach on kindness is…?
