Report from Evangelist Lemma Asfaw (Ethiopia)
2010/07/25 01:17:08 PM

In the Bible Luke gave a thorough report to Theophilus concerning the life of Jesus and the development of the early church. Just like Luke, Evangelist Asfawthoroughly documented Apostle André's recent mission to Ethiopia.

He is arranging meetings in Norway for us next year. There are Ethiopian refugees in many countries. Preach the Gospel to the Poor is the Lord’s command. It takes effort, time, and finances to complete the work.  Read the report below.

"Greetings to brothers and sisters of Harvester Church, Apostle Andre Pelser and his family!! I am evangelist Lemma Asfaw together with my family from River of Life Gospel ministry Addis Ababa Ethiopia, writing you feedbacks on Apostle Andre Pelser’s visit and service in Ethiopia from June 4-7, 2010.

We have been able to witness a unique transformational teaching of gospel from Apostel Andre Pelser that has really been a great blessing to us all on individual basis, congregational level and as a church nation wide. During Apostle Andre Pelser’s stay in the three days, we have found him to be humble, open and hard working (committed) brother. He has managed successfully to adapt himself with the Ethiopian culture and way of living. Just like a loving mother who feeds her children, Apostle Andre has been sharing us love and truth that eventually turned to be a blessing for us. Above all his openness teaching and presenting were really impressive. His determination in spreading the gospel and surrendering souls for our Lord has been in particular something that we learned a lot from. I really would like to thank God for giving us Apostle Andre Pelser for Africa! For he is a true remedy for a generation gap that we are currently living in. We would like to really thank you for sending him here to East Africa. God bless you! We are praying for Apostle Andre pelser, his family and the Harvester church for more blessing!

I met Apostle Andrie pelser for the first time in 2007 in Birmingham, (UK) in Elim Pentecostal church in a program organized for evangelists’ pastors and leaders. I was there together with other Ethiopian pastors. I was invited by Prophet Graham to attend a program and that was the scenario that I saw Apostle Andre Ministering. At the time, I was moving around the United Kingdom ministering different Ethiopian and Eritrean congregations. Upon the will of God I managed to meet Prophet Graham first and through him I was introduced to Apostle Andre pelser. That was the time that we become close and made fellowship together. That was also the time that I asked Apostle Andre Pelser to come to Ethiopia and to share us this grace. It was the will of God that after three years in a miraculous way he comes to Ethiopia. My family and I were delighted when Prophet Graham from Birmingham mailed us the news about the coming of the Apostle to Ethiopia and we praised God! And Prophet Graham further explained to us about the harvester church planted in the United Kingdom. At that moment the Holy Spirit put a message in my heart that the same thing will happen in Ethiopia. However, I thought that things wouldn’t be that easy and fast as well. After some e-mail contacts we lost attachments with the Apostle and all of sudden he was at Hilton hotel in Addis Ababa and called me through my house’s phone and said “Hello! I am Andre from South Africa!” I was really! Really! Surprised! And the next morning together with my son Bemnetu Lemma we went over and welcomed him with love. What an appointment!  In the coming three days just like a committed soldier he marched through the land and shared us what he received from our lord.

Detailed Report

1.     On Saturday morning God prepared a car for us through a sister called Misgana. We went to the highest peak in Addis Ababa called Entoto, where it is possible to see the full view of the city. We also went to other places of the city for a visit; we had a good time together with Apostle Andre Pelser as we shared testimonies and brotherly chatting. Sister Misgana invited us for a lunch at a hotel and we dined on European dishes.

2.     On Saturday afternoon Apostle Andre pelser taught my family, evangelists and ministers on Ephesians 4-11 that focuses on church administration and the five offices of services prevalent in the church. We were pleased by his teaching. He has taught us how to live on the eve of the coming of our Lord. With tears and a broken heart it paved a way for a prayer. Just as the Lord spoke to me, I poured on oil that was prayed on and put it on the Apostle’s head and prayed for him and the lord spoke to him that he will provide service to the Lord in a new way and that God will be with him and accompany him. In addition the Lord spoke that he will have a fruitful ministerial years and that he has come here up on the will of God. The Apostle has written everything the Lord has spoken to him. It was a time of revival and wonderful worshiping.

3.     Sister Selam who assisted Apostle Andre in translating took us for refreshments with her car. That day in the evening we went to my home to dine on Ethiopian dishes. I am a father of six children (5 boys and 1 girl), together with my wife Zelekash Gebremeskel and family we welcomed the Apostle into our house. One of my sons has been married four months ago. I and my family are members of the full Gospel Believers Church who serve the Lord by traveling in the land. We are called by the Lord to serve on full time basis. I had the opportunity of serving the Lord internationally. England, Norway, Austria and Germany are some of the countries that I have traveled to reach with the gospel. Just like Apostle Andre, I aspire and would be happy to reach 62 and more nations. Our family’s vision is to work on:-  1, Family Restoration 2, Facilitate prayer centers 3, organizing conferences and crusades that would eventually turn to be churches. You can look at our brochures and pamphlets for detailed information. Our ministry is on the move of growing, thus we don’t have a web site currently. I received the revelation of the Lord that says “Go out to the world and reach” 18 years ago and we are trying to do this in particular. It would be a great honor to come to South Africa and worship God together with you brothers and sisters!

4.     On Sunday early morning at 7:00 p.m we started our journey to the Southern part of Ethiopia on a place called Butajira. It was a three hour drive from Addis Ababa. A man called Timotewos was driving the car to the destined place. Previously me and my son Bekalu were invited to minister there but out Lord arranged situations for Apostle Andre pelser to share the word of Gad to the crowd. The apostle taught about Zaccheus for a crowd of people estimated to be from 2,000 to 3,000 and above. It was a time of big revival, worship and healing as well. He was even saying “Eyesus geta naw!” to the crowd which in Amharic (our language) means “Jesus is Lord!” After the conference we dined in one of the hotels in Butajira and resumed our journey back to Addis Abeba together with the apostle, my son Mitsiatu Lemma who is a singer and Timotewos. When we reached Addis Ababa, we went directly to the place arranged as a prayer center without chairs yet, and Apostle Andre prayed on the place. Since it was a tiresome journey we had to take back the apostle to the hotel where he had to stay. It was a kind of a rainy day. I was looking at the apostle’s shoe that was partially covered with mud as he tried to get rid of it. I was happy to see the Ethiopian soil leaving together with the apostle. That is what the Bible says at Joshua 1:1-9 “I will give you every place where you set your feet”. The apostle had taken the soil with him. Really we pray that he will return back and plant churches here. Oh! What a fast acquaintance, a long service and a sudden separation. Even the apostle didn’t have that much time for relaxation and entertainment. He did God’s work for short days leaving great impacts on our lives and on Monday he returned back to South Africa. We praise God for the fellowship that he gave us with the apostle, his family and his ministry at the Harvester church!

Dear brothers and sisters! We have come to understand that this is the divine appointment and work of God. We want the fellowship between us to resume. It has been 19 years now since the fall of the communist regime in Ethiopia. Thousands of people are returning their faces to the churches. It’s a big task to be accomplished. In Luke 5:1-11, it was difficult for Peter to pull the net as it was filled with large number of fish. We need help and assistance in pulling individuals in to the kingdom of God. We need individuals like Andre Pelser to serve the Lord. For it is a time of gospel for Africa. The gospel that has been covered by tradition in Ethiopia is now to erupt like a volcano, and as a result we want you to be involved in the spread of gospel in the country and to take part in the call of God.

1.                 It would be important if we could have visiting with each other and would be a privilege for me to come to you for a visit and preach the gospel for Ethiopians who live in South Africa.

2.                 It would be a blessing if the harvester church could plant a church in Ethiopia since we need more churches both in the urban and rural areas of Ethiopia.

3.                 We kindly ask if the apostle Andre Pelser could come over again and launch his ministerial services to us for a longer duration of time.

Give our hearty greetings to all brothers and sisters there in South Africa! The time for the second coming of Jesus is near! God bless you!!
