About Harvester
Harvester Reformational Church is fulfilling Jesus' great commission to go and make disciples of all nations and obeying His great command to love God and our fellow human beings. Based in Cape Town, Harvester has launched numerous ministries and empowered individuals through planting churches and equipping leaders with apostolic perspective to reform the church to its original design and to bring about change in today's society.
The main effect of the ministry is that we "see Christ formed" in the lives of those reached. The principles of the Kingdom of God Christ are implemented in family life and in business. There is an AIDS awareness programme, Youth and Children's Ministry, Business Ethics and ongoing Christian Life Skills Programmes and Personal Coaching.
The founders, Apostle Andre and Prophet Nola Pelser, along with Harvester ministry teams have preached the gospel in over 50 nations, bringing reformation wherever they are received. Lives have been changed for the better; marriages have been healed; families have been brought together; drug addicts have been rehabilitated and many signs and wonders and healings have taken place to mention but a few of the effects this ministry has on the communities they work in. The performing and visual arts have a strong emphasis in the ministry seeing that both Andre and Nola were professional performers and musicians prior to their commitment to missionary work. They have started Miracle Bible College to train people for life and ministry as well as a Performing Arts division to utilize the talents people have for the promotion of the Gospel of Christ.
The main thrust of Harvester's vision can be summed up in these words: "Commissioned to GO! Commanded to LOVE!"
Commissioned to go!
Matthew 28:19-20
- GO teach all the nations
- GO baptise in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit
- GO teach them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you
In the Commission to go, Jesus has promised to always be with us even to the end of the world.
Commanded to love!
John 13:34-35; John 15:12-14; James 2:8
We are to love one another as Christ loved us. People will know that we are disciples of Jesus by our love for one another. We fulfill the royal law of God by loving our neighbour as ourselves. Jesus says: "You will do well"
But it is also in the Harvester Household (small groups meeting in various households) that care takes place. In sharing the Love God poured out in our hearts, everyone taking equal care for one another, every member benefits from a care structure unsurpassed by anything else. This is the Body of Christ, made up of cells. Through household groups we reach out to the community to present Jesus Christ to them in a practical way.
Similarly, in His family there are households. The Harvester Household leaders are trained on a regular basis to provide them with tools like personal coaching, counselling, deliverance, governmental prayer, and operating in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. This equips them to effectively pastor every group.
- There is one God, our Creator, eternally existing in Three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- Jesus is the Son of God and Saviour of the world. He was born
of a virgin, lived a sinless life and God anointed him to heal the sick
and raise the dead. His vicarious death, bodily resurrection and
ascension to the right hand of God the Father are all just as real as
His physical and imminent return.
- The Bible is the living word of God written by holy men inspired by the Holy Spirit and contains instruction in holy living.
- The Holy Spirit is our Guide and Comforter. The fruit of the
spirit is a spiritual harvest from seed sown and the gifts of the
Spirit are given to each member to encourage other believers to make
unbelievers aware of the reality of Jesus Christ in the church, the
body of Christ, today.
- We are Christ's ambassadors to a spiritually dark and lost
world imploring them to be reconciled with God through Jesus Christ.
The blood of Jesus Christ paid the price for their reconciliation and
everyone who believes in Him shall be saved and have all their sins
forgiven.
- The baptism of the Holy Spirit is essential gift for all
believers who obey the Lord and are baptised in water by full immersion
in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The initial evidence of
the baptism in the Holy Spirit is speaking in other tongues just as the
disciples did in the book of Acts as the Spirit gives utterance. The
other gifts of the Spirit follow after the baptism. Everyone who
acknowledges Jesus as Lord has the Spirit within because no man can say
Jesus is Lord except through the Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the sacraments of the Lord's Supper to remind
ourselves of His death and resurrection and to learn to discern the
body of Christ amongst us of which He is the Head. We also believe in
the sacrament of water baptism by full emersion to signify our
identification with Christ Jesus' death and resurrection of which water
baptism is a symbol. We bless the little children just like Jesus did
and find no scriptural evidence for sprinkling or baptism of infants
who have no choice regarding the administration of the sacrament. We
baptise believers who confess Jesus Christ as their Lord, the bible as
their code of living and the church as their spiritual family.
- We believe in the corporate cleansing of sin of the body of
believers whenever we have fellowship with God the Father, Son and Holy
Ghost and with one another when we gather to worship our God. We also
believe in the washing of water of the word that purifies the hearts of
church members when the word is preached. Jesus said, 'you are clean
because of the words I have spoken'. This allows every member to
function in the church without any guilt or condemnation and to find
fulfilment and to add to the growth of the church.
- We believe in corporate blessing of salvation, divine
healing, provision and protection just as Israel was taken care of in
the wilderness under the cloud and the pillar of fire. There was none
feeble amongst them and they received physical sustenance from Manna
from heaven and water from a rock that followed them. Christ is our
Bread from Heaven and the Rock of Ages.
- We believe in the apostolic blessing of grace and peace to
the church that acknowledged apostolic ministry and our apostolic
commission is to go into the whole world as sent ones to preach the
Gospel of the Kingdom and make disciples of all nations. Our great
Commandment is to love God and others as we love our self, because He
first loved us leaving us an example to follow.
- We believe we have already come to Mt. Zion, the Heavenly
Jerusalem, to a great company of angels and the spirits of just men
made perfect, to the elders in heaven, to Jesus the Mediator of the New
Covenant based upon better promises and to God the Father and Judge of
us all. This is the true church called the Church of the Firstborn of
which we are an integral part. It is a present reality and not a
distant hope.
- We are New Testament believers and the Kingdom of God is a
present reality with an ultimate fulfilment awaiting us. The Kingdom of
God is within us and we do not have to take it by force as men did
until the time of John the Baptist. It is our Heavenly Father's good
pleasure to give the Kingdom to us.
- AS WE CONTINUE to practice doing just as He tells
us to do in His word, life completely changes for us. We will have a
completely different perspective and will come to have an entirely new
attitude toward life, things and people!
- THE KINGDOM OF GOD - ROM 14:17: It's
characteristics are described as righteousness, peace and joy in the
Holy Ghost. The eternal chaos in the world due to the tares has not
prevented the growth of the wheat. (The world was created out of chaos
by the Word of God).
- OUR PRIVILEGE to reign with Christ. Enter
in on it by faith. We have been made to "sit together in heavenly
places in Christ Jesus". We are to be more than conquerors. Sin shall
not have dominion over us. Sin, sickness and Satan are banished from
the glorious realm in which God's children are called to live. Jesus is
our KING, we are His Kingdom. HIS WILL
is our highest desire and the extension of His Kingdom our sole
occupation. All else will be added unto us. Our occupation is
rulership, not defeat!
